2026 Cement Industry Outlook and Mid-Term Roadmap: Dynamics of Cement Demand and Production in Indonesia

Jakarta, March 4, 2026 – The Chairman of the Indonesian Cement Association (ASPERSSI) attended and served as a guest speaker at a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the Directorate of Economic Stabilization Strategy, Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The discussion focused on the theme “2026 Cement Industry Outlook and Medium-Term Roadmap: Dynamics of Cement Demand and Production in Indonesia.”

During the forum, the Chairman of ASPERSSI shared his views on the current state of the national cement industry, the industry’s prospects towards 2026, and the direction of the sector’s development in the medium to long term. The discussion also highlighted the importance of policy and regulatory support to maintain the sustainability and competitiveness of the cement industry amid the ever-evolving economic dynamics.

The Indonesian cement industry currently still faces a number of structural challenges, including oversupply and fluctuations in demand. In 2025, domestic demand is projected to decline by around 1.5% compared to the previous year, which will result in a relatively low level of industry utilization.

On the other hand, industry players continue to promote various strategic initiatives to strengthen the sector’s resilience, including through improving operational efficiency, expanding export markets, utilizing technological innovations, and pursuing decarbonization efforts in line with Indonesia’s sustainability commitments.

Discussion forums such as this are an important means of strengthening dialogue between the government and industry players. Through the exchange of views and constructive discussions, it is hoped that a more comprehensive understanding of demand dynamics, production capacity, and the policy framework needed to maintain economic stability while supporting long-term industrial transformation can be achieved.

Collaboration between the government and industry is expected to continue to strengthen the cement sector’s contribution to supporting infrastructure development, enhancing economic resilience, and promoting the sustainability agenda in Indonesia.
