INTERCEM ASIA 2026

Jakarta, April 15–16, 2026  – INTERCEM Asia 2026 was successfully held at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, bringing together more than 300 participants from 35 countries representing the global cement and construction value chain. The international event was reflecting a strong collaboration in delivering a strategic forum for global cement industry stakeholders.

As an event partner, ASPERSSI actively participated throughout the program and hosted an exhibition booth showcasing the development of Indonesia’s cement industry, the association’s role, and various strategic initiatives currently being undertaken by the national industry. The ASPERSSI booth also served as a platform for engagement and networking with international participants, business partners, and stakeholders from various countries.

Representing Indonesia’s cement industry, ASPERSSI Chairman Lilik Unggul Raharjo delivered an overview of the current condition of the national cement sector. Indonesia’s cement industry currently consists of 16 producers, 23 integrated plants, and 50 production lines, with production capacity largely concentrated on Java. ASPERSSI continues to serve as the representative body and collaborative platform for all cement producers in Indonesia.

In his presentation, he highlighted several ongoing industry challenges, including slow demand recovery following the pandemic, oversupply conditions, and projected domestic demand growth of only 1–2% in 2026. In addition, rising energy costs, which now account for around 50% of production costs, continue to put pressure on domestic operations and export competitiveness.

ASPERSSI also reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions target through greater energy efficiency, lower clinker factor, and wider adoption of alternative fuels. However, several challenges remain, including limited biomass supply, access to financing, technology readiness, and the need for stronger policy support and stakeholder coordination. INTERCEM Asia 2026 served as an important platform to discuss global market dynamics, regional trade flows, sustainability issues, and future investment opportunities. Through its participation in this event, ASPERSSI reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a competitive, resilient, and sustainable cement industry in Indonesia, while strengthening global partnerships in support of the transition toward Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
